Arthur W. Davis
(1888-1967)

Arthur Wells Davis was born in Whitesboro, New York on January 15, 1888, the son of Isadora and Charles Davis, a foundry worker. He lived in Utica, New York where he worked as assistant foreman at the Utica Knitting Co., a textile mill. In the 1920's he left the textile mill and became the proprietor of a book store in Utica. He was tall and stout, even in his youth, and never married. He lived with his mother all his life, until she died, and collected minerals in his spare time. He died in Utica in June of 1967.
