 Basel Natural History Museum
(1768-    )

The mineral collection of the Naturhistorisches Museum Basel was founded by the donation of the collection of Hieronymus d'Annone in 1768, and was later enlarged by endowments from Johan Jakob d'Annone (1804) and Hieronymus Bernoulli (1838). It currently contains over 50,000 mineral specimens, 2000 gems and 10,000 ore samples. Swiss Alpine minerals, especially historical specimens, are a specialty.
