Pierre Destinez
(1847-1911)

Pierre Destinéz was a préparateur in mineralogy at the University of Liège in Belgium, and was elected a member of the Société géologique de Belgique in 1886. He published a number of articles, primarily on paleontology. Destinézite was named in his honor by Forir and Jorissen in 1880, as a new iron phosphate from the Argenteau coal mine; however, it was discredited as diadochite a few years later.
