Sigurd R. Paijkull
(1849-1884)

Sigurd Reinhold Paijkull was a Swedish chemist and mineralogist in Stockholm. The Chemical News for July 25, 1873, reported on S.R. Paijkull's investigations into "certain compounds of zirconium." He described the new species homilite in 1876, and was coauthor of the mineralogy and geology part of a three-part book on natural history (animal, plant and mineral kingdoms) entitled Rebaus naturhistoria för skolan och hemmet (1879). He died in 1884, at the age of 35.
