 Belgium, Royal Museum of Natural History
(1846-    )

The Belgian National Museum of Natural History was opened un Brussells in 1846. It traced its origin to the "Physics and History Room" of Charles of Lorraine (1712-1780), which was taken over by the city following Charles's death. It houses a mineral collection of over 40,000 specimens, including a systematic collection of Belgian minerals.
