Ronald James Kendig, born May 17, 1947, is a mineral collector and dealer in Pennsylvania. Ron has lived in Berks County all his life: West Wyomissing, Wernersville, Sinking Spring, West Lawn and Reading (hence Ron's intense personal interest in Berks County minerals and also Pennsylvania minerals.) He studied mineralogy and science under Samuel C. Gundy, then Director of the Reading Museum in Reading, Pennsylvania. The recent book on The Mines and Minerals of Berks County, Pennsylvania (2016) by Ronald Sloto has around 26 photos (b&W) of specimens in the Kendig collection.
Ron and his wife Emilie R. Kendig (they married in 1968) are proprietors of "Nature's Window," and have been selling minerals and fossils at gem and mineral shows since 1982.
In 2009 they sold the large collection and library of New Jersey mineral collector Neil Wintringham (1922-2009). They have also sold the collections of:
Alan Delaney (PA) in 2011 & 2012
Barry Gehret, Jr. (PA) in 2006
Dr. F. P. (Fred) D'Esopo (NY) in 2000
Charles Wiegert (CT) in 1989
Robert Eisenhauer (PA) in 1987
Their website is no longer active but they sell specimens through eBay.
