Willard W. Wulff
(1904-1998)

Willard Warrick Wulff was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 30, 1904, the son of Sarah Irene Warrick and Frank F. Wulff, President of the Wulff Shoe Company. Willard worked in the shoe store as a clerk, while his aunt Theodora Warrick served as company bookkeeper and Secretary-Treasurer, and his mother served as Vice President. By 1940 Willard had been promoted to Assistant Manager.

Willard was an avid field collector, along with his collecting partner, George White. They both built fine collections. Willard also published an article on "Topaz in the Tarryall Mountains of Colorado" in Rocks & Minerals in 1934.

He married Jeanne Andrews Howard (1912-1970) and in 1949 they had a son, Willard, Jr. His second wife was Audrey LaVerne Wright (1907-1939), with whom he also had one child.

When he died on November 4, 1998, he bequeathed the "Willard W. Wulff Glass Plate Negative Collection" of historic Colorado photos to the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.
