David Hanna
(1909-2000)

According to their specimen box label, David and Margaret Hanna of Newberry Springs, California, were the proprietors of a mineral dealership called "Damar Fine Minerals."

Leonard David Hanna was born in Toronto, Ontario on April 6, 1909, the son of Florence Elizabeth Hicks and David McLean Hanna, a "melt artist" for a "cure company." He married Margaret Anne Neil (born in New Haven, Connecticut, on December 11, 1913) in Ontario, Canada in 1935, and that same years they moved to Newberry Springs, California. By 1951, when he filed to become a naturalized citizen, they had moved briefly to Hermosa Beach, California, but were soon back living in Newberry Springs until at least 1997. They had three children together.

David died on July 11, 2000, in Yucaipa, California. His wife Margaret died in Yucaipa on July 10, 1998.
