David Marinoff
(1904-1993)

David I. (or I. David) Marinoff was born in Denver, Colorado on January 15, 1904, the son of Russian Jewish immigrants Anna and Louis Marinoff, a tailor. During the 1930s he worked as a typist for the Ray Nafziger Company in Denver. He served in the US Army from 1942-1944, and upon returning home he married Oklahoma native Rosemary _____ (Jan 25 1910-1984). From 1964 to 1968 he was listed in the Denver City Directory as "Gems of the Rockies." He was retired by 1971 and died August 18, 1993. The only label (undated) we have for "Gems of the Rockies" (Inc.) is for a shop in Green Mountain Falls Colorado, about 10 miles west of Colorado Springs. David may have sold the shop in Denver when he retired, and the new owners relocated to Green Mountain Falls.
