(1936-1992)

Dr. Giancarlo Brizzi was a prominent Italian mineral collector and amateur mineralogist in Florence. The new mineral species brizziite was named in his honor in 1994, in recognition of his contributions to the mineralogy of Tuscany, and especially the Cetine stibnite mine where the original specimens were discovered. He was co-author of numerous articles on worldwide mineral occurrences.
