John B. Brinton
(1806-1880's)

John B. Brinton, MD, was among the earliest practitioners of the art and science of micromounting, and appears to have been an associate of micromounting pioneers George Rakestraw and George Fiss. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1806 and spent is life in West Chester, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. Many of his micromounts eventually ended up in the collection of the late Lou Perloff, and are now in the collection of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
