John P. Snyder

John P. Snyder of Gardiner, Maine was a private mineral collector and a friend of Leo Neal Yedlin (q.v.) (lawyer and later columnist for Rocks & Minerals and Mineralogical Record) when Yedlin was a resident in Randolph, Maine in the late 1930's to early 1940's, before Yedlin joined the Army. No other information.

Possibly the John P. Snyder who later became a geologist and mapping specialist for the U.S. Geological Survey. He wrote USGS Bulletin 1532, An Album of Map Projections Used by the U.S. Geological Survey (1989). In 1995 he was listed as "the late" John P. Snyder, "formerly of the U.S. Geological Survey."
