Walter P. Yarnall
Walter Pearson Yarnall was born July 21, 1900 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, the son of Florence Irma Taylor Pearson and David Gould Yarnall, a paint manufacturer. He attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, following which he returned to work in his father's business. By 1930 Walter had taken over for his father as President and Treasurer of the paint factory in Philadelphia. Little else is known about his life, other than that he was a member of the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting of Friends. He married Nancy Guthrie Spears in 1934 and relocated to Lansdowne, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, where he died a year later of unknown causes on February 3, 1935.
Yarnall's mineral collection of several hundred worldwide specimens was donated to the Delaware County Institute of Science in Media, Pennsylvania by his parents shortly after his death. His collection is still retained there.
