Y. Shibayama
(fl. 1895-1930's)

The Shibayama Natural Science Laboratoty in Dangosaka, Komagome, Tokyo, Japan was founded in 1895 by Y. Shibayama. He had a special department for mineralogy and petrology, but also dealt in anatomical models, scientific instruments and chemicals, primarily serving universities, colleges, museums and experimental laboratories in Japan and elsewhere. In its time it was the largest dealership in minerals and rocks in Japan. By 1935 its organization of field collecting agents for mineral specimens extended to all parts of the Orient as well as many Western countries.
