Very scarce. Edited by Alexander Wilhelm Köhler [see note below] this important mineralogical and metallurgical journal was based at the center of the German mining community in Freiberg. It is complete in six volumes each in twelve issues. It was continued as: Neues Bergmännisches Journal, which had irregular publication through 1815. Being published in the home city of the Bergakademie, many articles came from the leading German mineralogists of the period, including early publications of A. von Humbolt, C.A.S. Hoffmann, D.L.G. Karsten, M.H. Klaproth, and A.G. Werner.

Alexander Wilhelm Köhler. (Born: Freiberg, Germany, 5 July 1756; Died: Freiberg, Germany, 23 December 1832) German mining expert. From 1786 to 1824, Köhler was an instructor in mining techniques at the Freiberg Bergakademie. He was then appointed to the post of assessor for the state mining commission.
