DOHRMANN, Adolph.
(1832 - 1886)

(Born: 28 April 1832; Died: Stockton, California, U.S.A., 24 October 1886) American mineral collector.

He was the brother of Fredrick William Dohrmann and married in San Francisco on 12 September 1873.

Rare. Auction catalog of Dohrmann's large collection of minerals including many fine examples from the gold fields of California. The lots are divided by species, i.e. native gold & silver, platinum, iridium, mercury, copper, iron, antimony, tellurium, sulfur, diamond, graphite, stibnite, argentite, galena, hessite, cinnabar, fluorite, cuprite, etc. Under each of the sections is the Dana number. Harvard University was a major buyer at this auction, and many of the gold specimens are still held within their collection.
